Feels Familiar? {Part 6}

“Start copying what you love. Copy copy copy copy. At the end of the copy you will find your self.” - Yohji Yamamoto

Llew Mejia says: "Inspired by one of my favorite textile designers, Josef Frank, a master of color and composition. Of course I don’t even come close but one can try and learn from a master!"
Not that he's not trying to come close! very close..

This has to be an homage since George Hoyningen-Huene was chief of photography at FrenchVogue at some point, but maybe not?

I noticed the same thing about Llew Mejia's designs and must admit that I felt slightly cheated. They are still beatiful but I guess I can't help but feel a little less impressed. I like the bats though, they seem to be a genuine creative addition to Josef Frank's design language.
