oj då ! que mescla !

◊◊◊

* translation below *

men ofta pratar de svenska.

- So what do you want to do tonight ? i ask in english, so we don't misundertand eachother.

Then we meet somewhere, et après quelques mots échangés en français, we swich to english.
We take the subway together.
There, we love to mix all the languages we know !
Può parlare italiano.
Y jo respondo en español.
Ele fala português também !

And for 20mn, it's a total mix of no more than 6 languages !
We use to say "oj que mescla i min huvud !" *

* In the morning when i wake up, i think in french.
I think about my day.
I am always tired.
I wish i could sleep 3 more hours!

Then i go to swedish class,
4 hours.
I listen, I speak, I write and think in swedish.
Then i take the subway to work, and i keep thinking in swedish in the metro.

When i arrive at work, I say hi to my collegues, in french,
we talk a bit, and then we go and prepare the kids' snack.

All the people who work at the canteen are from Chile.
They talk and listen to the radio in spanish.
So we talk, sing, and make jokes in spanish.

Then come the kids, they speak french with us.
but often they speak swedish.
The whole afternoon, i speak french and a little bit of swedish.

When i finish work, i call my boyfriend.
He's swedish, but he speaks french.
- Hello, how are you ?
- Good... he always says.
- So what do you want to do tonight ? i ask in english, so we don't misundertand eachother.
- i don't know, we can go in that restaurant we talked about together last time.. he says in says in the most adorable broken french.
- yes, that's a good idea...

Then we meet somewhere, and after few words exchanged in french we swich to english.
We take the subway together.
There, we love to mix all the languages we know !
He can speak italian.
And i answer in spanish.
He also speaks portugues !

And for 20mn, it's a total mix of no more than 6 languages !
We use to say "oh my ! what a mix in my head !"

I love this, language soup is the best kind. This past January, my best friend and I, both fluent in Russian and English, traveled to Guatemala, where we spoke to everyone in rusty Spanish and to each other in English, interspersed with Russian. We encountered a couple of Swedes and ended up traveling together for the larger part of a month. I practiced Swedish with them. My friend would ask me, "How do you say pepper in Spanish?"
"Paprika! No, wait, uhm, pimento!"
